Maven EVO Beta Preview: Exciting Updates for DJI Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro Pilots

Welcome to the Beta Preview of Maven EVO, our latest and most ambitious app designed for drone enthusiasts. If you’re flying a DJI Mini 3 or Mini 3 Pro, this update is tailored to unlock new possibilities and elevate your piloting experience. 🚁

Why Maven EVO?

When DJI released the SDK 5.x for the Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro, it marked a major technological leap. However, this also came with a significant limitation: the 5.x SDK is not compatible with the older 4.x SDK used in our previous app. This incompatibility meant that simply updating the existing app was not an option.

To support these new drones, we had to start from scratch and build an entirely new app. While this was a challenging process, it also gave us the opportunity to rethink and improve many features, ensuring that Maven EVO is tailored to meet the needs of modern drone pilots.

Maven EVO is the result of months of hard work, learning, and innovation, and we’re excited to finally share a glimpse of what’s to come.

Key Features to Look Out For

Maven EVO introduces a suite of powerful tools, including:

  • Waypoint Navigation: Plan and execute precise flight paths with customizable waypoints. Perfect for capturing cinematic shots or automating survey missions.
  • Advanced Mission Planner: Take full control of your flight missions with an intuitive interface to configure complex routes effortlessly.
  • VR Mode: Immerse yourself in a first-person view experience, bringing a whole new level of excitement to your flights.
  • Virtual Copilot: Enable collaborative piloting or let the app assist you in controlling your drone for smoother, more efficient flights.

These features are crafted to maximize the potential of your DJI Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro, ensuring seamless integration with your drone’s capabilities.

Release Timeline

We’re excited to bring Maven EVO to life, but we’ve encountered some delays in development. While we’re a few months behind our original schedule, the new ETA for the full release is before 2025. Thank you for your patience and continued support—it means the world to us.

Requirements

To use Maven EVO with your DJI Mini 3 or Mini 3 Pro, you will need:

  • DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller
  • Android 8.0 or higher

Note: Performance may depend on your device’s processing power and current system load. For the best experience, ensure your device has adequate resources available and limit background apps during use

Maven For Android – (beta)

###24/12/2022 update Maven Lite is now available for download on Google Play

original post:

The application is in a beta stage and we are working to reach the Play Store as soon as possible.

At launch the application will have very limited functions and will then be completed with subsequent updates

The android app will be called “Maven Lite” until it is fully functional of its iOS counterpart

The first feature available at launch will be the “virtual co-pilot” and will have all the capabilities of the iOS version including, follow me, orbit me, and cable cam

The variety of android devices is so high that we can’t be sure it works on every device, and we can’t test them all, so to avoid selling you an application that might not work we decided that you can download and try the application for free.

It will be impossible to record videos from the drone while using the virtual co-pilot. Video recording will be unlocked via an in app purchase.

Maven 3.11 BETA, Support for Mini 2, Air 2S,Mini SE + DISCOUNT

DJI has released SDK 4.16 for iOS in advance

We are working h24 for the release of the most anticipated Maven update ever with the support you have Mini2, Air 2s, Mini SE drones

From the very first tests the SDK integrates without problems, so the “beta” phase will probably not last long.
However we are not going to release the app in a hurry, everything must be perfect when the update reaches the app store!

To celebrate the release of the SDK we have decided to discount the app which goes from $ 17.99 to $ 9.99
We will keep the discounted price until we release the update!
***discount ended***

In addition, we open the Beta version for free to “everyone” (100 places available)

Message from DJI

this morning this message appeared on the DJI developer portal, and it doesn’t sound good ..

from developer.dji.com

on the one hand we are reassured that we can continue to update our apps, we have a very interesting updates roadmap with many new features for Maven and we would be really sorry to have to abandon it

on the other hand we are a little worried about the support for the new drones, we obviously think of the mini 2 or the brand new DJI FPV where according to DJI the SDK will no longer be updated for iOS until they solve the question with Apple

We have a lot of work to do to bring Maven to android, and since the problem is not related to that platform, surely this message brings priority (which we need) to that work.

I am pretty sure that two big companies like Apple and DJI will work to resolve the situation in the common interest as soon as possible 🤞, we will keep our attention on the matter.
