🌟 Maven EVO 2.0 is officially live! 🌟

This is one of our biggest updates yet — packed with powerful new features, improved compatibility, and major enhancements across the board.

  • 🔧 Updated DJI SDK to version 5.13
    We’ve integrated the latest DJI SDK to ensure maximum performance and future-proof stability. This means better compatibility, smoother flights, and access to the latest features from DJI.
  • 🚁 Full support for the DJI Mini 4 Pro
    Maven EVO now fully supports the Mini 4 Pro, including all core and advanced features of the app. Waypoint Missions, Copilot Mode, VR Mode — everything is now available and optimized for this new generation drone.
  • 🔍 Zoom Controls
    You can now manage the camera zoom directly from the app. Smooth, precise, and intuitive — giving you greater control over your framing and cinematography.
  • 🎯 Advanced Focus Management
    We’ve introduced full focus control, including:
    – Manual Focus (MF): adjust with precision using the new focus slider
    – Auto Focus (AF): quick and reliable focusing
    – Auto Focus Continuous (AFC): perfect for dynamic situations
    – Tap to Focus: just tap where you want the focus point

     

  • 🎞️ Portrait Gimbal Mode
    You can now switch the gimbal to portrait orientation for vertical shooting — ideal for social media content and creative framing.
  • 🌡️ Manual White Balance Temperature
    For users who want full control over their color profiles, we’ve added manual white balance temperature settings. Adjust the warmth or coolness of your image to match your environment or artistic vision.
  • 📐 Gimbal Tilt Feedback
    Get real-time visual feedback of the gimbal’s angle on screen — useful for precise camera positioning and mission planning.
  • 🛡️ Collision Avoidance System Enhancements
    – Added a System Status Widget to display the current state of obstacle avoidance in real-time
    – New toggles to enable/disable the obstacle avoidance system, giving you full control over how the drone reacts during flight
    – Added audio feedback for obstacle presence — you’ll now hear a beep when an obstacle is detected, for better spatial awareness
    – The widget now also displays the distance to the closest detected obstacle, allowing you to react in time and plan your movements more safely

     

  • 🧭 Compass Status & Calibration
    We’ve added real-time status monitoring for the Compass, so you can easily check its condition before or during a flight.
    Need to recalibrate? You can now start the compass calibration directly from within the app — no more digging through DJI menus!

  • 📡 IMU Status & Calibration
    The new update also introduces full IMU status visibility, letting you verify the health of your drone’s internal sensors at any time.
    And if needed, you can initiate IMU calibration straight from the app, ensuring optimal stability and flight performance with just a few taps.

  • 👁️ Improved 3D Preview Readability
    We’ve refined the text display in the 3D mission preview to make it clearer and easier to read.
  • 📱 UI Improvements & Bug Fixes
    – Fixed layout issues that affected a few devices
    – Polished several UI elements for a smoother user experience
    – Resolved an issue that could prevent a waypoint mission from starting if the drone was already flying at a higher altitude than the first waypoint.
    – Resolved minor bugs for better app stability
    – Resolved an issue that could prevent the Home Point icon from appearing on the map under certain conditions

DJI SDK 5.13 & Maven EVO 2.0 roadmap

DJI has just released SDK 5.13, bringing official support for the Mini 4 Pro! 🎉

This means an update for Maven EVO is coming soon, adding full compatibility with the Mini 4 Pro.

We’re working hard to bring Maven to the DJI Mini 4 Pro, and here’s our roadmap:

✅ Step 1: We’ve ordered a Mini 4 Pro with DJI RC-N2, which is required for third-party apps. This is the first step toward full compatibility.

🛠 Step 2 (1-2 weeks): The first Maven update will roll out, bringing full support for the Mini 4 Pro with all the powerful features from Maven EVO, including:
🔹 GPS Follow
🔹 VR Mode
🔹 Waypoint Missions (Virtual Stick)

🚀 Step 3 (Another 1-2 weeks): A second update will add full support for Onboard Waypoint Missions, unlocking even greater mission planning capabilities!

🎥 3D Flight Preview for Realistic Mission Simulation (In-App)

A game-changing feature! The 3D flight preview allows you to visualize the drone’s behavior during the mission execution in real-time.
✅ An essential tool to verify mission settings before takeoff and prevent mistakes.
✅ The simulation runs in real-time, accurately reflecting speed and mission parameters.
✅ You can speed up playback, pause, and scrub forward or backward.
✅ The drone’s position remains visible on the map throughout the preview.

🌍 Mission Export to KML for Google Earth and Earth Pro
For an even more immersive experience, you can now export your mission in KML format and open it in Google Earth.
✅ The KML file includes the flight animation, POI placemarks, and the mission path polyline.
✅ Note: Google Earth (mobile app) and Google Earth (web) do not support automatic flight animations.
✅ To view the full mission flight animation, use Google Earth Pro on PC or Mac (available for free download).

📡 Drone Field of View (FOV) Visualization on the Map
Now, when setting a waypoint, you can instantly see the area that the drone will capture. This helps you plan your shots better and avoid unexpected surprises during the flight.

📸 Manual shutter speed selection for better control over your shots.
📷 Improved manual ISO selection to optimize exposure in all lighting conditions.

🚀 The new Mission Preview feature is already available in Maven 3.15 (iOS), Maven 2.2 (Android) and Maven EVO 1.2 (Android).

⚠️ Mission Preview Limitations:
🔸 The preview cannot tilt the camera above the horizon. If such movement is programmed, the preview will still be locked at the horizon.  However, in the actual mission, if the drone supports it, it will look up as expected.
🔸 The preview does not simulate waypoint actions, such as gimbal or drone rotations.
🔸 Real-world factors may cause differences between the simulation and actual flight execution

After nearly a year of hard work, dedication, and countless hours of development, Maven EVO is finally here! 🎉 This marks the beginning of an exciting journey, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us.

1️⃣ Legacy Maven App (iOS) Update:
After being on hold for a while during the development of Maven EVO, the original Maven app will finally receive a much-needed update. We’ll address some existing bugs and implement the new virtual stick algorithm introduced in EVO, which significantly outperforms the original in terms of smoother movement.
 
2️⃣ Maven Lite Farewell:
It’s time to say goodbye to “Maven Lite” as it will be rebranded as simply “Maven.” Along with the name change, we’ll add the powerful mission planner from Maven EVO to this app, bringing new features and capabilities to the experience.
 
3️⃣ Refining Maven EVO
Continuing to perfect the current set of features in Maven EVO, ensuring stability, performance, and polish.
 
March – April
 
4️⃣ Mission Planner Expansion
Enhance Maven EVO’s mission planner with the ability to add waypoints “by flight,” allowing you to fly the drone to desired points and set waypoints directly in real-time.
 
5️⃣ Grid Mission Tools
Introducing tools for grid missions, ideal for survey and mapping tasks.
 
6️⃣ KMZ Export
Enable the export of missions in KMZ format for use with DJI Fly.

Maven EVO Beta Preview: Exciting Updates for DJI Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro Pilots

Welcome to the Beta Preview of Maven EVO, our latest and most ambitious app designed for drone enthusiasts. If you’re flying a DJI Mini 3 or Mini 3 Pro, this update is tailored to unlock new possibilities and elevate your piloting experience. 🚁

Why Maven EVO?

When DJI released the SDK 5.x for the Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro, it marked a major technological leap. However, this also came with a significant limitation: the 5.x SDK is not compatible with the older 4.x SDK used in our previous app. This incompatibility meant that simply updating the existing app was not an option.

To support these new drones, we had to start from scratch and build an entirely new app. While this was a challenging process, it also gave us the opportunity to rethink and improve many features, ensuring that Maven EVO is tailored to meet the needs of modern drone pilots.

Maven EVO is the result of months of hard work, learning, and innovation, and we’re excited to finally share a glimpse of what’s to come.

Maven EVO introduces a suite of powerful tools, including:

Maven Lite 1.2 – VR mode

added VR mode!

Now you can fly aboard your drone in first person immersive mode.

Gimbal Modes supported:

  • Normal (stabilized)
  • Head Tracking
  • FPV (not stabilized on the roll axis)

VR view is configurable in size, position and distance between the pupils, to adapt to practically all VR headsets.

Possibility to change point of view by selecting the drone or phone camera. (Particularly useful during takeoff and landing phases to ensure that the area is clear.)

Head-Tracking with “comfort tilt” mode that allows you to tilt the camera by 90° while only lowering your head by 60°.

Check the new manual for the VR function for all the details.

The update includes several bug fixes and performance improvements.

-Added Radar Tool
the tool displays how the remote control and the drone are oriented towards each other
automatically appears on the screen when the drone is at least 20m away from the remote controller

-Added tool to display signal strength
operation for Ocusync drones and WIFI drones

-Added Grid on screen
you can now turn the grid on and off from the camera options

-Added label indicating the distance from the POI on the augmented reality tracker

-Augmented Reality Trackers are now available even with minimized camera view (full screen map)

-The update also includes minor bug fixes
